Stillena is a private journaling app.
Your entries, attachments, settings, and optional context are used to provide journaling features inside the app.
Storage
Journal entries are stored on your device.
Voice and microphone
If you use voice transcription, Stillena asks for microphone and speech recognition permission to turn your spoken note into text.
Location
If you use location context, Stillena asks for location permission to add place context to an entry.
App lock
If you enable App Lock, Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode authentication is handled by your device.
Stillena does not receive or store your biometric data.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store.
Stillena uses StoreKit entitlement information to determine whether the app is available to you.
Optional Cloud AI sends relevant text to an external provider for processing.
Cloud AI is off until you choose to enable it. When Apple on-device intelligence is unavailable and you use a supported AI feature, Stillena sends only the text needed for that request to the Stillena backend. The backend verifies your subscription and app installation, then sends the request to an external AI service for model processing.
Cloud AI applies to mood inference, voice-note proofreading, Today Reflection, and archive title summarization. Today Reflection and unaccepted title suggestions stay only in temporary memory. Stillena saves an AI title only after you apply it. Stillena does not intentionally log or persist journal text, transcripts, prompts, provider response chunks, or generated content on the backend.
You can disable Cloud AI in Preferences at any time. Disabling it removes the local backend session and prevents future cloud AI requests.
Analytics and advertising
Stillena does not include advertising or third-party analytics.
Policy changes
This policy will be updated before Stillena introduces any new data collection, analytics, advertising, or non-Apple backend processing.
